Hard Drive Installation

Now it’s time to install your hard drive.  Again this is a very easy process.

Any new hard drive purchases should be a SATA drive.  Find the hard drive slots in your computer case.  Simply slide the hard drive in from the front, then secure the hard drive into place.  Your hard drive can either be secured with screws, or in some cases there are screwless latches which can snap into place.

Next attach the SATA cable, which is often provided with your hard drive or motherboard, to both the back of the hard drive and SATA port on the motherboard.  Lastly, find a free SATA power cable on your PSU and attach it to the back of your drive.  Once this is complete, your hard drive is installed.

Time to move on to installing any floppy or ROM drives.
